A Very Far Place
Part of the Mindanao Studies Series, A Very Far Place by H. Arlo Nimmo is a collection of stories inspired by some of the people, places and events in Tawi-Tawi islands in Mindanao, southern Philippines, where the author spent two years in the mid-1960s doing anthropological field research among the nomadic boat-dwelling Sama Dilaut community. Although the stories are set in a faraway place and in a distant time, their themes still resonate in the here and now.
